An Alpha chimpanzee was drowned in entrance of horrified German zoo company immediately after his son took in excess of the troop and applied them to assault his father.

Robert, 47, was the former leader of the chimpanzees at Pongoland in Leipzig Zoo who asserted himself versus the youthful apes. 

But by the time he got a little bit more mature, his son Frodo, 29, had taken over as leader.

Regrettably, according to Bild, there was an intense altercation in the enclosure concerning Robert and the other chimpanzees which led to his dying.

Zoo manager Dr Jörg Junhold now reported that team users had pushed Robert to the edge of a ditch in the outdoor enclosure.   

Shocked staff members and guests then watched Robert going in excess of the safety boundary into the h2o.

He drowned right away, as chimpanzees can not swim. And soon immediately after, his human body was pulled out of the water by employees.

Dr Junhold reported: ‘We are deeply stunned by this occasion and have to begin with needed the past couple of days to procedure what happened. 

‘The pathological findings now available have verified that Robert drowned and that there ended up no other or interior injuries.’

A spokeswoman for the zoo Melanie Ginzel added: ‘Disputes in chimpanzee groups are section of the zoo as effectively as in the wild. 

‘Here in Leipzig, even so, nothing like this has at any time took place with this depth. You really don’t get involved in the team. The animals determine the ranking among the by themselves.’
