A British army veteran who went to battle for Ukraine has survived becoming shot various times and blown up by artillery during the bloody war in opposition to Russia.

He said: ‘[We were] helmet to helmet, hand in hand, as the artillery rounds just kept coming. The following factor I know I hear this almighty thud. 

‘It felt like someone experienced dragged me underground. I just observed crimson. Professor’s human body just went limp like a rag doll. He landed on top of me.

‘At that position I realized I would been hit. I imagined, “I am dead here. This is where by I die.” So I accepted it. Professor was long gone, I could not get him off me.’

Amin recalled shouting to another comrade – Oleh Shumov, identified as ‘Sham’ – to say that he was continue to alive and desired assistance.

He described how, even with however becoming under hearth, Sham jumped out of his possess trench and dragged the Professor’s entire body away.

‘So I pressured myself onto my again, and my commander pulled me away into some kind of deal with as the rounds saved coming down.

‘It begun to rain and I informed my commander “you require to get me off these rocks, I’m lying on rocks here and I am in agony.”

‘He claims “you’re not on rocks mate, which is the shrapnel which is gone up through your entire body armour and into your back again.”

Shareef and Sham were soon rescued by Kozak Warrior armoured personnel automobiles and pushed for 20 minutes to ready ambulances and on to clinic.
