Suresh Raina became the 7th batsman to hit 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League when he hit his 2 big ones in Match 19 of IPL 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. Raina got to the landmark when he hit RCB spinner Washington Sundar into the long-on stands at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Suresh Raina got to the 200-six landmark in the IPL in his 198th match. Notably, Raina is the only second Chennai Super Kings batsman after captain MS Dhoni to get to 200 sixes in the T20 tournament. Notably, Dhoni has hit 217 sixes in 209 matches in the IPL.
Suresh Raina is also the 4th Indian batsman after Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli to get to the major landmark in the IPL. As expected, Chris Gayle is on top of the list with 354 sixes in 137 matches.

Notably, Raina walked in at No. 3 in the absence of Moeen Ali who sat out due to a niggle he picked up during CSK’s win over Kolkata Knight Riders. Raina looked to attack from the word go after openers Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 74 runs in just 9.1 overs.
Raina got going by hitting Yuzvendra Chahal over the long-on fence. He hit Washington Sundar into the stands despite not getting to the pitch of the ball. He then flicked a Navdeep Saini length ball over the deep fine-leg boundary to keep the CSK scoreboard moving.
Raina eventually got out for 24 from 18 balls. The former India cricketer, who had pulled out of IPL 2020 in the UAE due to personal reasons, He has begun IPL 2021 on his return to CSK on a good note, hitting a fifty in their opener against Delhi Capitals. After a string of low scores, Raina showed signs of return to form with a handy knock against table-toppers RCB.
