This is the moment a man celebrating the birth of his baby son was fatally shot with a bow and arrow by a neighbour angry at the noise he was making.

Javier Alfredo Miranda Romero, 41, was with a group of pals and had been walking home with them after wetting the newborn’s head at a nearby bar.

But as he stood and chatted outside his apartment furious Evaristo Scalco, 63, grabbed a bow and arrow and shot him with the steel tipped flight which is usually used to kill wild boars.

Graphic footage shared online shows Javier clutching his stomach with the arrow clearly sticking out from him as he staggers around in a pool of blood in an alleyway in the Italian port city of Genoa.

Bare chested Scalco can be seen in the first floor window and he is clearly holding the bow in his hand as he looks on, unaware that Javier is mortally wounded.

Witnesses say that Scalco had hurled racist insults at Peruvian born Javier before grabbing the bow and arrow and shooting him in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Javier and his friends had been at a nearby bar watching the Champions League match between Liverpool and Napoli before heading home after a few drinks.

In one harrowing piece of footage Javier can be seen in tears and talking on his phone, holding the arrow and whimpering: ‘Son of a b****. What the f*** have you done to me ? My God.’

Scalco can be heard shouting down: ‘Do you need a hand?’ A neighbour then comes out and asks: ’What’s happened?’ and Javier answers:’ He’s shot me with an arrow.’

Realising the gravity of the situation Scalco runs down and in other videos is seen bending over trying to stem the flow of blood as police try to keep a crowd of angry Javier’s pals back.

Seconds earlier they had tried to remove the arrow from his body, possibly exacerbating the wound and he was later taken away by paramedics to a local hospital.

Doctors battled to save his life after surgery discovered is liver had been pierced but despite trying to find him a possible donor there was nothing that could be done and he died from his injuries on Wednesday.

On his Facebook page, Javier had posted a photo of the scan of his unborn baby in July and written: ‘And very soon you will be with us we wait with great eagerness my little Gustavo Giuseppe. You will be our blessing, the joy of mummy and daddy.’

Scalco, who worked as a labourer in the local marina, told police that he had just returned from a job in Malta and was tired and had just wanted to sleep’ but was kept awake by the noise.

He added: ‘I looked out and saw a group of people urinating, I shouted at them but they ignored me, I grabbed the bow and fired but I didn’t mean to kill anyone.’

Officers who raided his house said around 60 arrows and three bows had been seized and an investigation had been opened by local prosecutor Nicola Piacente.

An official from the Peruvian consulate said Javier had lived in Italy for 26 years and staff were in touch with his family.

Scalco was being held in custody at a local jail last night on suspicion of murder and aggravated racism.
