31 slaughtered in nursery shooting: Thai ex-cop kills at least 23 children and multiple teachers before taking his own life
- Children and adults are among at least 31 dead after a horror nursery massacre
- Gunman Panya Khamrap fled the scene in a white van before killing himself
- Ex-cop was allegedly kicked off force for a failed drugs test and was due in court
At least 31 have been killed in a horror mass shooting at a children’s daycare centre in Thailand, police have said.
Among the dead are at least 23 children, multiple teachers, and an officer after the brutal massacre carried out by a former policeman who then took his own life.
Dozens of blood-soaked bodies were scattered across the floor and in the grounds outside the nursery after the gun and knife attack.
The suspect has been named as Panya Khamrap who was allegedly fired from the force last year after failing a drugs test, and was due in court tomorrow.
He escaped in a white four-door Vigo pickup truck and the bumper fell off as he fled, before he turned the gun on himself.

The massacre occurred in Nong Bua Lamphu, in the northeast of the Southeast Asian country.
The prime minister had alerted all agencies to take action and apprehend the culprit, a government spokesperson said, before they found his dead body.
The rate of gun ownership in Thailand is high compared with some other countries in the region but official figures do not include huge numbers of illegal weapons, many of which have been brought in across porous borders over the years from strife-torn neighbours.
Mass shootings are rare but in 2020, a soldier angry over a property deal gone sour killed at least 29 people and wounded 57 in a rampage that spanned four locations.
