The couple’s vacation woes commenced on September 2 when their 6.35pm flight from Manchester to Crete was cancelled.

Mr Dawson, a former coverage agent, claimed they had been shuttled to a lodge in Stockport and supplied ‘no information’ about their new journey preparations.

‘As daylight came up we have been put on a mentor and sent to a resort close by for 10am, in time for breakfast.’
