A British grandfather who was a ‘friend to everybody’ died on a desire cruise ship holiday break in St Kitts although snorkelling.

Theatre actor Andrew Evans, 60, a father-of-two, was on a loved ones vacation onboard P&O’s Britannia cruise ship in the Caribbean.

He went out snorkelling before a holidaymaker noticed that he had collapsed in the h2o at Peninsular Cove, St Kitts.

The fellow vacationer pulled him from the sea before attempting to revive him with CPR – but Mr Evans was tragically pronounced lifeless.

He was component of a significant team holidaying with his spouse and daughter on a 14-working day excursion from Barbados to Southampton.

Mr Evans, of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, died of a cardiac arrest on March 27 this yr – just one month away from his birthday.

Tributes have now been paid out to the ‘doting grandfather’ who had worked in IT for Carmarthenshire Council.

Colleague Ann Benjamin explained Mr Evans went on to execute in a string of amateur dramatics demonstrates with The Academy group.

She explained: ‘He was the sort of man or woman where by, if you asked him to do some thing, he would do it. He was 1 of the stalwarts of The Academy, he was there, he would help out, and be concerned in performing almost everything – operating all-around organising this, organising that.

‘He played many sections in the shows – he preferred actively playing the panto animal, he appreciated the conversation with every person, that is what he preferred – he experienced a whole lot of enjoyable. He gave most points a go.

‘You couldn’t question for a better buddy, he was there if you needed him, you didn’t have to question two times. That was at work, at dwelling, in the theatre, anything to do in your lifestyle.

‘He was very well beloved by so numerous people. He was a gentleman, and so thoughtful to everyone around him. He would constantly be pondering, how can I enable another person if they are in difficulty, and that was just his character. It just came from him, it wasn’t a thing he experienced to function at.

Mr Hurford reported his friend also experienced a ‘revolutionary’ part in reworking clinic radio in Llanelli.

He mentioned: ‘We labored with the engineers of Hywel Dda and developed a wonderful infrastructure which revolutionised the way medical center radio works. I take my hat off to him. He did an tremendous total of get the job done there.’

Mr Evans is established to be laid to rest at his funeral on Could 4.
