Police have shot a knifeman attacking staff and site visitors at a Jewish medical center in Germany.

A 45-calendar year-previous male carrying a knife attacked staff members and people at Residence D of the Jewish Hospital on Heinz-Galinski-Strasse, northern Berlin, on Friday afternoon. 

The gentleman was reportedly a affected person staying handled for addiction at the hospital’s psychiatric clinic.

Law enforcement in Germany’s cash rushed to the scene immediately after a number of emergency calls. 

Onlookers reported officers fired two pictures, hitting the knifeman in the leg.

A client at the scene advised BZ: ‘Doctors and nurses arrived jogging out of the constructing.

‘When the police came, officers with protecting vests and protective shields went into the dwelling. Then two shots were being fired.’

A police spokesman mentioned he threatened nurses and people and did the exact same to officers when they arrived.

The spokesman stated: ‘He did not reply to requests to place the knife down.’

The police mentioned his injuries were being not daily life-threatening and he was taken to an additional ward in the healthcare facility for therapy.  

Murder police from the 6th Murder Squad are investigating the assault.
