Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands joined the Swedish royal family for a glittering concert as they wrapped up the second of their three-day state visit.

The Dutch royals were accompanied by King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden for the orchestral performance at the Stockholm Concert Hall on Wednesday night.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden were also in attendance, as were Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia – all of whom posed for a photograph outside the venue with their Dutch counterparts.

The concert came at the end of a long day of visits for Willem-Alexander and Maxima, who were in the second of their three-day state visit to their neighbours in Sweden.

Earlier, they had donned hard hats and high-vis jackets as they toured the headquarters of Stockholm Exergi and the Karolinska Institute Science Park.

But the scene was very different in the evening, when Queen Maxima dressed to impress in a stunning gown, which featured a blue overlay – with a glimpse at the tan-coloured dress beneath.

The dress gave the illusion of a cold-shoulder look, and was accented with a stunning green necklace. The Dutch Queen wore her hair in soft waves for the occasion.

Queen Maxima matched her elegance, in a floor-length, glittering green dress. She wrapped up warm in a black fur-style coat, and wore her short locks in a tidy, wavy style.
