It’s going to be a special landmark for Royal Challengers Bangalore as the former finalists will feature in their 200th Indian Premier League match on Thursday. RCB will take on Rajasthan Royals in Match 16 of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Both captain Virat Kohli and star overseas player, AB de Villiers are nearing major milestones in the IPL and both the cricketers would want to get the in the special outing for RCB, who will become only the 2nd IPL franchise after 5-time champions Mumbai Indians to feature in 200 matches.

Captain Virat Kohli closes in on Mount 6k

Virat Kohli is in line to become the first batsman to score 6,000 runs in the IPL. The RCB captain has 5949 runs in 195 matches and is just 51 runs away from getting to the milestone.

Kohli hasn’t had the best of starts, having managed just 71 runs in 3 matches. Kohli was dismissed for 5 against Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous outings but the skipper will be hoping for a change of fortunes in the new venue.

While Chennai has seen pitches where batsmen have struggled, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai have been batting beauties. Kohli would want to make the best use of the conditions for their crunch encounter against Rajasthan Royals.

AB de Villiers looks to emulate David Warner

AB de Villiers, who has started the season on a high, is just 26 runs away from becoming the 6th batsman to hit 5,000 runs. He has 4974 runs in 172 matches in the IPL.

De Villiers will be hoping to get to the 5000-run landmark and emulate David Warner, who is right now the only overseas player with more than 5000 uranus in the IPL.

Despite not playing competitive cricket in the lead up to IPL 2021, de Villiers has been at his vintage best for RCB. He made batting look easy in Chennai, scoring 125 runs at a strike rate of close to 190. Don’t be surprised if de Villiers comes up the order to take on the bowlers at the Wankhede.

Glenn Maxwell eyes 100-six landmark

New-recruit Maxwell, who has set the stage on fire for RCB, need one more six to become the 23rd player to hit 100 sixes in the IPL. Notably, Maxwell was released by Punjab Kings after an ordinary IPL 2020 campaign where he did not hit a single six.

However, in just 3 matches, Maxwell has hit 8 maximums and is looking good for plenty more.
