Moment ugly fist fight breaks out on Thai Smile Airways flight between group of men as heated row escalates – despite frantic attendant trying to diffuse the situation

Tempers flared as a fight broke out among four passengers on a flight from Bangkok to India.
Two Indian men were filmed having a heated row onboard a Thai Smile Airways flight headed for Kolkata city, in West Bengal, on December 27.
The pair were heard telling each other to ‘sit down quietly’ and ‘put your hand down’ while a frantic flight attendant tried to defuse the argument on the Airbus A320 single-aisle jet.
However, the fight only escalated when the bespectacled man’s friends approached and punches were thrown. The man appeared to try and defend himself from the group’s attacks.

Shocking footage shows the passenger in a black collared shirt receiving a one-sided beating as the brawl caused chaos in the cabin.
Other passengers and crew were heard calling for the men to stop.
A flight attendant finally put an end to the altercation by separating the two parties. It is unclear what had caused the fight.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Thai Smile Airways, a subsidiary of state-owned flag carrier Thai Airways International, said: ‘Thai Smile Airways feels sorry for this. We reaffirm that the incident has been taken care of as we followed the flight safety procedures in accordance with international standards. Our flight crews have already provided support to the persons affected by an incident.’

Low-cost carrier Thai Smile has recently rebranded as Thai Smile Airways and its parent company has changed to Thai Airways International amid efforts to stop endemic corruption and soaring debt levels.
In October, a brawl broke out on a Jetstar flight, forcing it to make an emergency landing.
The chaotic fight took place just 24 minutes into flight JQ582 from Melbourne to Brisbane.

Footage showed the moment punches were thrown between two men, with multiple other passengers trying to separate them.
One mother revealed how she thought ‘we were going to die’ as the plane descended without warning following the fight.
A map of the flight’s path shows the aircraft turned around near Mansfield and returned to Melbourne airport.
There, Australian Federal Police removed the two people from the plane.
